After a 20-year international career in Mexico focusing on community transformation in low-income communities, Jennifer Harper has found her home in Long Beach. She is the Executive Director of Long Beach Day Nursery, one of the oldest licensed childcare centers in California and believes that Early Care and Education is a primary strategy for reducing intergenerational poverty. Jenn loves to empower collaboration between people and organizations, is bilingual English/Spanish and is a Certified Trained Facilitator with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from SNHU and a Bachelor of Arts in English from UCSB. In addition to the Board of Directors for the Long Beach Early Childhood Education Committee, Jenn also serves on the Board of The Mexican Association for Rural and Urban Transformation - Amextra, is a Member of the Advisory Board for Build-Up California and Low Income Investment Fund’s National ECE Practitioners Advisory Committee and is a Commissioner for the City of Long Beach’s Inaugural Women and Girls Commission.
