Alejandra S. Albarran Moses, PhD, is an early childhood subject matter expert with more than 17 years of experience. She currently serves as the Early Childhood Strategic Initiatives Program Manager for the City of Long Beach. Dr. Albarran Moses led the development of the Long Beach Early Childhood Education Strategic Plan and leads the City’s early childhood education initiatives. She has been an active member of the Long Beach Early Childhood Education Committee for the past 5 years and holds the position of Vice Chair of Community Engagement. Dr. Albarran Moses is currently serving her 4th year as a commissioner on the Los Angeles County Policy Roundtable, representing the 4th District, currently serving as the Chair. She is a seasoned educator who has been teaching child development within the Cal State University system for the past 10 years. She holds a BS in Psychology with a focus on Child Development, an MA in Educational Psychology with a focus in Early Childhood Education, and a PhD in education with a dual focus in Cognition & Development and Educational Policy & Social Context. Her research focused on the unique approaches that communities take in supporting parents of young children to help their children become school ready. Dr. Albarran Moses is a parent to two young children herself, as well as an active community volunteer.
